though it was hard getting off of the bus with 68-01-20 going...but I am taking a few hours to listen to joe's garage and some other things...need to find my copy of hot rats...not that he isn't on the regular rotation, it just gives a reason to listen to more...
I recall the first time I saw him and just being completely blown away by the quality of the band and the overall musicianship...great stuff...
hey, down in Joe's Garage
we didn't have no dope or lsd
but a coupla quartsa beer
would fix it so the intonation
would not offend yer ear
and the same old chords goin' over 'n' over
became a symphony
we would play it again 'n' again 'n' again
cuz it sounded good to me
ONE MORE TIME!
btw: if you like frank check out ensemble ambrosious:
"Ensemble Ambrosius is a unique musical group performing Zappa, contemporary classical and ethno-jazz-rock-oriented cross-over music using baroque and renaissance instruments."
now that I think about it...I am going to take frank's advice and get my prostate checked...YIKES!!!

a friend gave me a tape of both albums, one on one side, one on the other, when i was 16 or 17 and it was a revelation. i remember many a rainy cold night with that tape playing over and over as i drove from massachusetts down to new york to visit the family.... burned into the deepest recesses of the brain they are! ON RUTH!
